14 Years Later… Duke Nukem Forever Goes Gold

When Harold Camping predicted the rapture on 21st May, most people were extremely skeptical, and low and behold, they were proven right.

When Gearbox Software announced they had taken up the Duke Nukem Forever project and it would release this year, most gamers were extremely skeptical – luckily for us Gearbox Software are better at delivering on their promises than Harold Camping.

Having been in development for an unprecedented 14 years, Duke Nukem Forever has gone gold and unless the rapture happens to occur just a bit later than planned, it will hit stores on the 10th of June.

Duke Nukem Forever is the game that was once thought to be unshippable, and yet here we are, on the precipice of history,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “Today marks an amazing day in the annals of gaming lore, the day where the legend of Duke Nukem Forever is finally complete and it takes that final step towards becoming a reality.”

Duke Nukem Forever, which was a PC exclusive when it was first conceptualized, will now be releasing for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
