Activision’s decided to come out in the open about the delay regarding starting the closed beta of Call of Duty: Elite on the PS3 aswell as promising that they’ll be able to start it soon.
First off, in a response to a tweet, the publisher clarified that the reason they aren’t being able to start the beta on the PS3 is that CoD: Elite is very complex and there’s no easy way to port it onto the PS3 and it’s critical that they do it right:
Understand frustrations, but Elite is a very complex development challenge. There is no simple “port” to PS3. Critical we do it right, said their Twitter account
On a positive note, another tweet revealed that Elite beta is currently in QA testing on the PS3 and PS3 gamers can expect a positive announcement regarding the launch of the closed beta on the console very soon:
PS3 players: PS3 Elite beta is currently in QA testing. When they give green light we will announce ASAP.
Call of Duty: Elite beta for Xbox 360 launched back in July, with Activision promising a PS3 beta to follow suit soon. However, it’s been delayed longer than expected leaving PS gamers fuming. Activision also denied PC users from access to the beta, without specifying the exact reasons for it.
