Ad Confirms Online Pass And Multiplayer Mode For Mass Effect 3

An online multiplayer component for BioWare’s Mass Effect 3 has been speculated upon ever since the game’s announcement. The fact that a multiplayer mode was being created for the role-playing game – notorious for its award-winning single-player campaign – was strengthened when a magazine cover confirmed that a ‘killer new feature’ will be unveiled for the third Mass Effect installment. An ad has now confirmed what the publisher, Electronic Arts, were preparing to announce: an online pass has been unearthed putting an end to speculation regarding Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer mode.

The ad, send to us via a tipster (Darkniks) confirms that the title will be shipping with an online multiplayer mode and it’ll also require a online pass. The ad was meant for the Collector’s Edition of the game.

To further strengthen the authenticity of the ad seen above, the upcoming issue of Xbox World has “killer new feature” displayed on their Mass Effect 3 cover:

BioWare haven’t, to date, ruled out the possibility of a mutliplayer mode for the latest iteration in their precious franchise. Additionally, with publisher EA refusing to comment on the matter, paired with the above evidence, it’s now extremely hard to doubt a multiplayer component for Mass Effect 3.

The game itself, meanwhile, is due for a launch in North America come March 6th and three days later in Europe for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Do you welcome this news or are upset about it? Make yourselves heard below.

Thanks, Darkniks.
