Anime Con 2011 Presents Ultimate Retro Gamer Challenge

The Gaming Booth of Anime Convention 2011 invites all gamers to take part in the “Ultimate Retro Gamer Challenge” – A unique challenge which will require you to prove your might by completing a popular retro title in  only one playthrough. That’s right. Are you gamer enough to manage to accomplish such a daunting task? Or the very thought of such a challenge makes you want to run away?

If you fall under the first category, then this challenge is meant for you! We’ll be holding this challenge during all three days of the Convention and the person who emerges as the winner will walk away with prizes worth more than Rs 5000 which includes a cash prize of Rs 2500 and lots of other exciting prizes.

We know you might be wondering a lot of things but the rules and FAQ mentioned below will clear all of the important ones.

FAQ

I managed to beat the game but someone after me has managed to do so aswell. What now?

Ans: In case more than one person manages to beat the game, the winner will be crowned based on the time taken to complete the game. The person who completes it in the fastest possible time wins.

Mr.X beat the game but I came pretty close. Will I get a prize too.?

Ans: Sorry, since we’re looking for the Ultimate Retro Gamer, only one winner will receive all the prizes. However, feel free to brag about your performance among your friends.

Noone managed to beat the game. What Now?

Ans: In case no one manages to beat the game than the person who progressed the further will be crowned the winner. However, there’ll be special prize for anyone who’ll beat the game, so try to do that!

How can I register for the event?

Ans: You can either register online by logging into Gamersmint or during the event on-site. All you need to do is visit our Gaming Booth and enroll your name. You’ll be allotted a time slot on the very day or the next one depending on availability.

What are the prizes?

Ans: There’ll be cash prize of 2500 and many other exciting goodies. Winner takes all!

Which game will we have to beat to be crowned the Ultimate Retro Gamer?

Ans: Contra!

What is the entry fees?

Ans: There is no entry fees. Registration is FREE!

Now, here are the rules:

Each participant will only be allowed one playthrough. In case you run out of lives and face the game over screen even once, that will be the END. However, you’re free to collect all power ups and extra lives during your playthrough. Only the game over screen will mean that your playthrough ends.

Each participant will be allotted a number and he’ll have to be present in order to play  during that time slot. Inability to do so will result in disqualification.

No use of cheat codes is permitted.
