Assassin’s Creed: Lost Legacy 3DS gets canned

Sure to disappoint fans, Ubisoft has announced that the development of Assassin’s Creed: Lost Legacy for the 3DS has halted.
The news was revealed by Ubisoft CFO Alain Martinez who stated that the less than impressive 3DS sales did not lead to the cancellation, as surprisingly, the decision was made during September of last year.
“[The cancellation] was a decision made back in September 2010,” Martinez said. “It wasn’t due to anything that took place. We felt the machine already had a number of hardcore games for its release.”
Why Ubisoft withheld from making an official announcement for so long leaves us scratching our heads.
Sorry 3DS owners. On the bright side, you’ve got something else to look forward to this September.
