Bastion developer on what’s next for studio

Following the great success of their Xbox Live Arcade and Steam game Bastion, developer Super Giant Games has started to talk about what’s next in the pipeline for the company.

Speaking to RPS, Bastion creative director Greg Kasavin responded with the following when asked what’s next for the indie studio:

We are talking about it now, but we tried not to talk about it prematurely, because our fate as a studio hinged entirely on this game. We were all very focused on this game [Bastion] until it was done. It seemed arrogant to think ahead of that, if we didn’t do everything possible to make it as good as possible. Now that it’s done well and things have settled, we are talking about what’s next.

Kasavin continued:

I don’t have anything concrete to say about that, but I would say that I think Bastion represents a lot of our values as game players and game makers, and I think these aspects, like the tight and responsive moment-to-moment experience, and the delivery of narrative in an interesting way, these are what we will want to continue over to anything else we do.

Bastion released to a very warm reception from critics upon its launch in August, and the developer only consisted of four people working in a house. Would you like to see a Bastion sequel? Let us know your thoughts via the comment section below.
