Battlefield 3 likely to ship on 2 discs for the 360

If a leaked Japanese poster of the game is any indication, the 360 version of Battlefield 3 will span over two DVDs.

On closer examination of the poster, you’ll notice that the PlayStation 3 version reads ‘BD-ROM x 1′, while the Xbox 360 version shows ‘DVD-ROM x 2′. Considering the technical capabilities of the Frostbite 2 engine, it’s highly likely that DICE will be unable to fit both Single Player and Multiplayer portions on to one disc. In that case, either the campaign will require disc swapping, or single player and multiplayer portions will be split upon separate discs.

However, this is still a rumor and EA has yet to confirm the news. But even if the poster turns out to be legit, two discs is hardly a hassle and should no way severe as an excuse to skip on the game. Look forward to Battlefield 3 when it arrives on shores on October 25th.
