Battlefield 3 ships 10 million, FIFA 12 sells 8 million

Electronic Arts has confirmed during their Q2 financial earnings conference call that Battlefield 3 has shipped 10 million units, while FIFA 12 has sold 8 million.

Since DICE’s shooter’s launch on Tuesday in North America, Battlefield 3 has shipped 10 million units to retailers. The game releases today in Europe. The game’s pre-order count was confirmed to be three million, as was reported earlier in the week.

Upon the game’s launch week, the publisher’s FIFA 12 had sold over 3.2 million units and since its September 27th launch, the football game sold over eight million units. Electronic Arts also confirmed that FIFA 11, has sold over 16 million units on all platforms. FIFA 12 sales were up 25% compared to its predecessor.

Digital sales was one of EA’s big winners; The Sims Social now boasts 8 million daily active users with total digital revenue sales reaching $216 million in sales – a 30% year-on-year increase. Due to The Sims’s user figures, it’s become the most played Facebook game after CityVille.
