Battlefield’s 3 campaign is 12 hours long

Battlefield 3 will be the first true battlefield game to feature a full length single player campaign, which came as a surprise to a lot of fans as single player has taken a back seat in shooters today.

In an interview with games.on.net, DICE general manager Karl Magnus Troddeson that Battlefield’s 3 campaign will take around 12 hours to complete.

“Naturally we want to introduce more people to our franchise” said Troddeson.

“A lot of people don’t want to jump straight into multiplayer. They want to feel around a bit and they’re ready to move over to online. The hardcore online people, they don’t care, they’re just straight in.”

“Maybe they don’t even touch the campaign. But we want to get more people in, invite more people into the franchise. That’s one of the main reasons why we have this different part of the game.”

DICE has also released the third gameplay demo for the game which gives us the first glimpse at melee combat. Check it out below.

Battlefield 3 is scheduled to release this fall for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
