“Call of Duty Elite” and Modern Warfare 3 logo and boxart leaked
A member of the Electric Hydra forums has posted some images, which happens to be logos of the much speculated, but unannounced Modern Warfare 3 and also, something called “Call of Duty Elite“. Kotaku has also posted a pic of what is possibly the cover art for the game. Note the matching logos.
The game has been teased and rumored over the past few days, that it’s only a matter of time before Activision spills the beans. Modern Warfare 3 is apparently codenamed Project Colossus and is supposedly getting a full reveal in the next issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine.
On the matter of “Call of Duty Elite”, we’re left just as clueless as you. Our best guess is that it’s a paid service that offers players access to exclusive features. But that’s just an assumption.
“On our last call, I told you that we had formed a wholly-owned development studio called Beachhead to lead the creation of an all new connected digital universe to the Call of Duty franchise,” said CEO Booby Kotick during the company’s earnings call on Monday. “This platform will include a suite of services and content plans that will unite and ignite the community like never before. The platform will support in-game integration and bring online experiences and console play together for the first time.
“It’s been in development for almost 2 years and we’re very excited about this increased value and excitement we can bring to our community through this platform.”
“The unprecedented online universe that will accompany it will reset the bar for this genre, giving players a new level of immersion, connectivity, community and, of course, epic action,” added publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg. “The game has exceeded every internal milestone and we look forward to sharing it with you soon.”
However, the images are as of now only classified as rumors as Activision has yet to confirm it. E3 is just around the corner and it won’t be long till the curtains are drawn. Stay tuned for more the latest updates on Modern Warfare 3.
