Capcom Further Responds to Sony Blocking Breath of Fire III PSN Release

Last month, Breath of Fire III was denied a PlayStation Network release due to legal issues. Now, the company’s Community Manager has provided a further response to the situation.

Speaking to Pixelitis during an interview, Seth Killian provided a reason as to how funds spent on pushing the game through to be approved may not be an enticing option for Capcom:

I don’t know what all the legal ramifications and situations are, so I can’t say how tricky or insoluble they are, but it’s a pretty big obstacle at this point because the harder it is to release a game like that, the more you have to work, the more money you have to spend even with lawyers, then the less profitable it potentially becomes and then you’re looking at releasing something which definitely will lose you money. That was a definite blow to the game. Obviously, the originals are still out there and you can go pick that up and play it. But, re-release right now, we’re sort of in limbo.

Breath of Fire IV, meanwhile, was released on the PlayStation Store on August 16th.
