Sniper Rifles – Don’t like engaging the enemy head on? Want to take out your opponents from a distance? Then, snipers are your choice of weapons! They are the most deadly rifles present in CS: S and if used properly can bag you instant kills much to the bane of your opponents. CS: S has four snipers with all of them having its own uses.
Schmidt Scout
Cost – $2750
Rating – ***
Description - The cheapest sniper one can lay his hands upon is the scout. But, that does not make it a weak one. It comes with a 10 .17 cal round clip and like any other vintage sniper needs to be reloaded after each shot. The scout is truly the pro’s sniper rifle. It’s very compact and darn accurate. Its only defect is its relatively weak bullets which packs nowhere near the punch of a .50 cal magnum. But, you can easily bag headshots with the scout if you shoot it with precision and you can also move a lot faster with it than any other sniper. Overall the scout’s not recommended for noobs but skilled players must use this to know what real glory is!
Secret – Always try to get a headshot with the scout to kill your enemy with a single shot.
Writer’s Tip – The scout is perfect for providing covering fire while your team engages the enemy. Due to its small bullets it takes less time to reload and can be used for wounding your opponents and softening them up for your teammates.
Magnum Sniper Rifle
Cost – 4750, 5000(CT)

Description – The awp is the big daddy of em all! The most powerful gun at your disposal in CS: S. The Magnum is known for its notoriety of killing a target in one shot. This is a hit among noobs as it requires you to hit your target just once to eliminate him. Comes with a 10 round clip but you will hardly ever need to reload it as it will be game over for your enemies or yourself before doing that anyways! Its 50 cal bullets can penetrate crates, wooden doors and other obstacles with ease and therefore offers no relief once a target is spotted! It’s only flaws are the that it takes ages to reload after each shot because of its power and the fact that equipping this gun makes your movement slower than a turtle. If you bag enough kills with this gun, people might start questioning your sexuality. Be warned!
Writer’s Tip – Make every bullet you fire with this monster count. Don’t panic while shooting even when you’re facing heavy resistance. Take your time and ensure that you hit your mark. He won’t bother you no more!
Krieg 550 Commando
Cost – $4200
Rating – ***
Description – This CT only sniper is fully automatic! It’s got the same scope as the other snipers and comes with a 30 round clip. This can be extremely lethal in the hands of veteran snipers but noobs will find it difficult to hit their mark with this gun as even the  slightest movement can make its bullets stray. But, if you have steady hands just imagine what damage a sniper can do with which you can get repeated headshots!
Writer’s Tip – Play it cool with this gun. Make full use of its 30 round clip. If you find it difficult to hit your target then try your luck spraying, you might still kill your opponent!
D3/AU-1
Cost – $5000
Rating – ****
Description – The D3/AU-1 is the most effective sniper in the game. This Terrorist exclusive autosniper is very accurate and extremely deadly. Its 20 round clip can be used to kill a lot of enemies without engaging them head on. Use it in the same manner as instructed for the 550 commando as both of them are identical save that this offers a faster rate of fire and a tad more stopping power. But its $800 more expensive than the latter!

KM Sub-Machine Gun
Cost – $1500
Rating – ***
Description – This SMG is preferred by navy personnel worldwide and popularly known as the MP5 is a hit among CS: S players too. It offers unmatched accuracy and moderate stopping power. But what makes this gun really useful is the fact that its got a silencer which makes it perfect for surprise attacks. Very effective at close ranges but not recommended if you plan to rush.
Writer’s Tip – Take full advantage of this gun’s superb accuracy. Always aim just below the neck of the opponent and the fairly accurate spray from this gun will fast result in bagging some headshots.
ES C90
Cost – $2350
Rating – *****( Dark Horse)
Description - This is the champion gun in CS: S. A great mix of accuracy and stopping power makes this one helluva powerful gun. To top it up, it comes with a 50 round clip which virtually makes it a LMG. This gun is perfect for noobs as the 50 round clip and its high accuracy makes the changes of scoring a few kills very high. Skilled players can own their opposition with this gun as the first shot fired is darn accurate and can kill an enemy with a single headshot.
Writer’s Tip – This is the perfect gun for unleashing an spray. Due to its large clip size, if you spot multiple enemies all you need to do is spray and pray as its spraying accuracy is very good and you will eliminate your opponents most of time.
Secret – This gun can be more dangerous than even rifles in small maps! I prefer buying this over even the Carbine in maps like office as due to its large clip and accuracy it can really dominate in close quarter combat. Try using it out.
