Cross-platform multiplayer for PC & Mac versions of Trine 2 confirmed

Frozenbyte has announced cross-platform multiplayer compatibility for Trine 2 between the platformer’s PC and Mac versions.

The Steam version of Trine 2 will and currently is supporting cross-platform multiplayer between the PC and Mac versions of the sequel. The Trine 2 beta is now available on the Mac, meaning that the cross-platform multiplayer compatibility can be put into action by players who received the beta via a pre-order.

Lauri Hyvärinen, CEO of Frozenbyte said:

The cross-platform multiplayer between Windows and Mac makes it easier to find people to play with, allowingeveryone to enjoy the full co-op potential of the beta and the upcoming game.

The PC beta also supports 3D via the utilization of NVIDIA 3D Vision. The CEO also commented on the game’s compatibility with stereoscopic 3D:

Trine 2 looks stunning with 3D Vision. We knew it wasgoing to be good but it really caught us by a surprise just how great it looks. Trine 2 has been built in full 3D, and while some of this may go unnoticed when the game is played normally, 3D Vision makes it pop out in a way that is just amazing.

Trine 2 launches on December 6th.
