Dead Rising 2: Case Zero, an Xbox 360 exclusive downloadable game t, is the prequel to the upcoming Dead Rising 2 and fills the plot gap between the original and the sequel.

Case Zero portrays what happened three years prior to the events of Dead Rising 2. Fortune City has been hit with an outbreak, and Dead Rising 2′s main character Chuck Greene and his daughter have arrived at a gas station in the suburbs. Chuck’s daughter has been bitten by a zombie, and the only way to keep her alive is by injecting her with a vaccine known as Zombrex once every 12 hours. Unfortunately, Chuck’s car which contains the Zombrex gets stolen and zombies begin attacking. Chuck and his daughter need to flee the area within 12 hours.

The game also acts as an Demo before the main game, with some parts of the game being totally free to play. However, gamers have to shell approx 5.99 US$ in order to complete the game. This can be a worthy investment as producer Keiji Inafune has confirmed that gamers can carry over their save file, complete with character stats, to start off Dead Rising 2 with an leveled up character. However, players can only advance to level 5 in Case Zero.
