DeathSpank: The Baconing announced

DeathSpank is all set to return to the arena with the third and final installment in the series, The Baconing.

Players must seek out the Fires of Bacon and put an end to the evil power of the thongs once and for all. The latest entry will feature new levels, new enemies and a new sidekick named “Bob from Marketing.”The battle system will receive a major overhaul and the AI is said to be improved significantly.

“Players will feel more in control of the battle situations than in previous DeathSpank games, providing gamers with opportunity and choice when engaging the enemies which stand in DeathSpank’s way.” says developer Hothead.

The developer has promised 100 new quests, over 70 characters, a minimum of 80 new weapons and a new ‘insane’ difficulty level. This is the first which will not involve series creator Ron Gilbert, but Hothead has assured us that it will be“more satisfying to play than last year’s games,”.

DeathSpank: The Arena is slated for a summer release on PC, XBL, PSN and MAC.
