Dedicated Severs confirmed for Modern Warfare 3 PC

Activision has finally heard the prayers of PC gamers all around the globe and has granted their wish. Despite their earlier claims on how the exclusion of Dedication Servers support was a trade-off for better service, the mega publisher finally gave in to fans demands.

The news was disclosed by Beachhead Studios’ Noah Heller to Eurogamer at GamesCom.

“The big announcement today is that we’re supporting dedicated servers for PC, which is really cool,”

Heller went on to add more details on the Call of Duty Elite service and the planned platforms for the service. Along with the planned mobile, tablet and website apps, Activision will also be releasing a “console app”.

“And of course we’re working really hard right now on the customised version of Elite for the PC , because it’s an open platform and has some challenges.”

“We’re also doing a console app,” he said. “So right there on PS3 and 360 you can jump out of the game into the app and communicate with your clan or do whatever you need to do before running back into the game.”

The Call of Duty: Elite Premium service is currently in beta and supports Black Ops, and will be fully implemented in MW3. The addition of Dedicated Servers is definitely a welcome move and if coupled with mod tools, will ensure that the title enjous a long life on the PC.
