DICE crumbles under pressure: BF3 Physical Warfare pack to be made available to all
Yesterday, General Manager of DICE KM Troedsson tweeted that the studio would be offering clarification regarding Battlefield 3′s Physical Warfare DLC.
The pack has caused controversy due to fans of the series believing those who do not pre-order from certain retailers would miss out on exclusive in-game content that would put them at a disadvantage. Some fans were even threatening to boycott the product.
Today, DICE offered the promised clarification that should put fans slightly at ease and allow DICE to take their $60 when the game releases. Speaking on the Battlefield 3 blog, Troedsson outlined that the DLC is only “time-exclusive”, meaning the pack will be available to all players for free at some point in the future.
He said: “And remember, if you do not pre-order, you will still get access to this content at a later date, free of charge. If you do pre-order, you will get access to it from day one.”
Put down those placards and pitchforks people, DICE have extinguished this particular fire so they can go back to deflecting rage from Bobby Kotick instead of their own fans.
