E3: Sony announces 3D display for PS3
Sony announced its exclusive 3D 24″ display monitor for for the PlayStation 3 today at E3.
The monitor will come bundled with 3D glasses, a 6-foot HDMI cable to connect to the PS3, and a copy of Resistance 3.
However, the biggest news surrounding the display is the innovative technology surrounding split-screen and co-operative play and how it interacts with the monitor. Two people playing a game simultaneously during either a split-screen or co-op game mode will be able to view their screens and characters individually and exclusively of one another using this very same display.
Yes, you read that right. The screen can output two images simultaneously, allowing players to share an entire screen with each other rather than cutting the screen in half.
The 3D glasses can be bought individually for $70, while the entire bundle will be priced at $500. Both products will be made available for purchase this Fall.
