EA screws up Steam release of Dead Space 2, gamers being denied access to the game
PC gamers eager to play Dead Space 2 on the PC were in for a shock after finishing the download as Steam gave out an authentication error. The problem is that EA cdkeys are not activating which is sending users into a frenzy. It maybe server problems or invalid CD keys, we don’t know yet.
Users on the Steam forums are reporting “Serial is Invalid” and “Product doesn’t activate” errors.
One user from Neogaf reports this error.
A Valve employee has acknowledged the issue and said they have contacted EA to find a resolution:
We’ve contacted EA about this, so hopefully it will get resolved soon
Hopefully EA will fix this soon. But such type of DRM is very unfair for PC owners and we would like to see it abolished.
