Fifa 12 New Features Video Leaked

A video showcasing FIFA 12 has been leaked onto Youtube.

The video highlights a variety of new features, comparing the physics from FIFA 11 with the new “Impact Engine” physics.

The new physics look like they will be adding a whole new flow to the game, with tackles and the resulting falls looking a lot more realistic than in the last entry. Players react depending on where the contact occurs – and the power of the impact also seems to effect how they fall or if they can simply shrug off the challenge. There also seems to be an element of unpredictability to the challenges, just look at the 5.36 mark to see what I mean (Seeing a Chelsea player flip through the air and land on their backside is always a crowd-pleaser).

With these even more realistic challenges comes realistic injuries as well. In previous FIFA games, injuries just occured for no reason other than the engine randomly deciding that the tackle warranted an injury. In FIFA 12 (at around the 7.22 mark), injuries seem to be more naturally occuring – with players landing awkwardly and an injury occuring as a result. The video also shows players pulling up with injuries for incidents that have not involved an impact – another aspect which will add to the overall realism of the game.

The video also showcases new skills and dribbling, as well as improvements to defending. Check it all out for yourself below:
