Gamersmint Review: Alien Vs Predator

Closing comments:

If you are a supreme supporter of the Aliens Vs. Predator franchise, there’s little point in giving a rationalized explanation on why you shouldn’t be playing this at all. Paying full retail, though, requires a second thought. The PC version runs for a nice Rs. 699, but the technical problems experienced on my test rig would suggest that you’d best play around with the demo first, less your system doesn’t seem up for the task. It’s not the most optimized game I’ve seen on PC in recent memory, that’s for sure. For everyone else, if you’re looking for a solid first-person shooter to hold your interest long enough, you can do a lot better. Here’s hoping the next AVP doesn’t leave me so empty.

What Clicked:

  • Cool to run around as the Alien or the Predator at first
  • Trophy kills are magically delicious
  • The most AVP-looking game yet

What Bombed:

  • Single-player campaign is uneven and at times boring
  • Weird controls and lack of responsiveness
  • Can’t play as a Facehugger
