Gamersmint Review: Silent Hunter 5 – Sleeping with the fishes
Final Thoughts
So here is the deal. Ubisoft tried to broaden the audience by adding in the first person and thin RPG elements. They also managed to make the initial few hours almost impossible to play through by providing zero guidance. What they are left with is a microscopic amount of people who will stick by the game and hope that ninja modders out there will somehow fix the game for them. There is quite a bit of fun to be had with this game, but the developers have hidden all of that deep behind the swarm of bugs and poor design decisions. At this point of time, there is no possible way in which I can recommend this game to anyone but the most hardcore of Silent Hunter fans. Even then, I cannot guarantee that they will not be disappointed.
