Guitar Hero III is this gen’s highest grossing game
All you Activision haters might want to look away. NPD has just released the list of top 10 highest grossing games of this generation, and Activision has managed to snag not just a mere two or three, but five spots on the list.
You may be surprised that the No 1 spot wasnt claimed by Call of Duty. Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock has brought in more money than any other game so far. However, the list is based on the highest grossing games, not highest selling games, so Peripheral games are bound to have an edge.
Coming in second is Black Ops which has managed to surpass his predecessor by quite a significant margin. Nintendo also occupies four spots on the list. Surprisingly, the only game on the list which is not published by Activision or Nintendo happens to be Rock Band, mostly owing to its $170 price tag. Here’s the scoop:
