Japanese get new PS3 models
Sony’s Japanese Website recently confirmed that they are getting two new PS3 Slim models which includes bigger a Hard Drive and a brand new white casing. These two PS3 slims, one with 160GB and one with 320GB of storage, goes on sale from July 29th.
The 160GB model will retail for ¥29,980 ($342), which is the same price for current 120GB model. The 320GB version will sell for ¥34,980 ($399), including taxes. Both versions will come in the black finish of current models, but the 160GB version will also be available in white. Matching DualShock 3s and console stands will also be released.
There is also an PlayStation 3 Terrestrial Digital Recorder Pack, made up of the Tivo-style Torne TV recorder and a 160GB black system for ¥36,980 ($421) on offer.
These two new PS3 slim models are currently only for Japan as no word for their launch in western regions has been forwarded. No Price cut on the existing 120GB PS3 model has been done either. Sony has apparently stated to let the retailers decide their costs.
