Latest Borderlands 2 trailer reveals new classes, and a release date

2K Games has just unleashed a brand new trailer for its upcoming FPS/RPG hybrid Borderlands 2. The developer has been very tight lipped up till this point, but the new trailer has plenty for us to digest.
The sequel promises to be “bigger, better and more badass,” with new characters, new skills, new environments, new weapons, and of course, plenty of loot. The dual wielding Gunzerker class was the only class that was showcased, but the trailer confirms that the Siren will be returning to the scene in a completely reworked form, along with new additions such as the Commando and the Assassin.
Those who place a preorder for the game will receive access to the Borderlands 2 Premier Club, which will grant players access to three exclusive in game items: the Gearbox Gun Pack, a Golden Key and the Vault Hunter’s Relic. As you can guess from the name, the Gearbox Guns Pack is a collection of rare and unique guns which will give gamers a small advantage initially, while the Golden Key will unlock a rare item in the Golden Sanctuary Loot Chest. The Vault Hunter’s Relic boosts players’ gear-hunting fortune in the game’s solo and co-op modes.
“Borderlands 2 is a passion project, through and through,” said Randy Pitchford, head of Gearbox.
“The result is a sequel that has improved every successful aspect of Borderlands while innovating with an all-new experience.”
Fans will be happy to hear that the end of the trailer also discloses a release date. Borderlands 2 will be out for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 18th in the US, and on the 21st in the the rest of the world. Check out the trailer below and let us know your thoughts.
