League of Legends Becomes Bigger Than World of Warcraft

Riot Games has released an infographic detailing how League of Legends has become bigger than Activision Blizzard’s World of Warcraft.
League of Legends has now exceeded 11 million players, all of whom are active. In comparison, the popular action RTS title has an accumulative of over 32 million registered players. When it’s put into perspective, it surpasses World of Warcraft’s current 10.3 million active players. Other intruiging facts unveiled via the inforgraphic Riot released is the fact that LoL boasts four million daily players.
Co-founder and President of Riot Games, Marc Merrill, said:
It’s staggering to think about the fact that over a billion games of League of Legends have been played since launch.
Here are some interesting facts from the infographic -
Based on North American, as well as European servers for League of Legends, 10.5 million hours are played every day, which is equal to 1,197 years. Another daily stat consist of 62 million champions being killed, 3,000,000 of which were caused by bots. 820 million, meanwhile, are killed every day, in addition to 1.2 million deathcaps being bought with gold earned by players weighing in at 87 billion. In terms of minute-by-minute stats, 43,055 champions are killed, 569,444 minions are killed too, as well as gold earned by players being 60,416,666.

It was recently revealed that World of Warcraft lost over a million subscribers with the above figure of 10.3 million being dwarfed by, actually, a staggering amount of 12 million players for the title last year.
