Left 4 Dead 2 getting Cold Stream DLC
After a long hiatus on the updates section, Valve has finally decided to release a new “Non Story” gameplay oriented DLC for Left 4 Dead 2.
Developed by 2 Evil Eyes creator Matthew Lourdelet, the new “surprise” comes in the form of Community Campaign titled Cold Stream. This campaign is being deemed as “even more promising with innovative game play arenas and effects. “, with Matthew showing that “there are still plenty of new ideas in L4D2 modding”.
“The very first step in creating a new DLC is deciding on the larger goals and constraints for the DLC,” said Valve on the L4D Blog. “The Sacrifice and the Passing were story heavy, so we want to see what the other end of the spectrum looks like. For this DLC we start with wanting to experiment by releasing a map pack that wasn’t about story. It would just be new campaigns for Left 4 Dead 2. “
The DLC pack will also add the three remaining Left 4 Dead campaigns to L4D2.
Cold Stream wont be out until sometime after Portal 2 which releases in April. The DLC pack will be available for the PC, Mac and the Xbox 360.
