Level- 5 considering Wii U ports of Professor Layton

Level-5, developer of the quirky Professor Layton puzzle game series for the Nintendo DS and more recently the Nintendo 3DS, may be porting the titles to the Wii U sometime after its launch in 2012.

Level-5 says that the Wii U tablet touch-pad controller is an ideal fit for the series. Though the games may not warrant a full exclusive Wii U title on their own right now, it will be interesting to see if Level-5 takes the series to the new console,  perhaps by continuing the storyline with more active gameplay, like free-roam search for clues. The Wii U certainly holds a lot of potential for titles such as these and it will be interesting to see how far developers venture when the console finally hits shelves.
