Minecraft official release date coincides with Skyrim

Minecraft, which has already seen 1 million beta purchases, will officially be released on November 11, the same date as Skyrim (interesting!).

The Indie game needs no introduction. Based on the Sandbox-engine, Minecraft asks players to gather various resources blocks to create other constructions. Though the game has been in hands of gamers from long, what this release will do essentially, is that there’ll not be any ‘beta’ tag on the game, anymore. Minecraft have received constant updates and Markus “Notch” Persson (Minecraft creator) confirmed that new updates and features will follow.

He also revealed that version 1.5 will be out next week. Explaining about the release date ‘coincidence’ with a much-awaited title of this year, he had this to say:

“It’s the same date as a few other games and movies, and the one I’m the most excited about is Skyrim, so that will be a nice reward for me if we actually manage to hit that date!”
