Modern Warfare 2 to receive new security updates on all three platforms

As a response to the recent growth of  Modern Warfare 2 hackers on the PS3, Infinity Ward has sent word that they will be releasing a new patch which will address security issues not just for the PS3, but all three platforms as well.

The amount of hackers have grown at an exponential rate thanks to the Failoverflow team and Geohot and the only possible solution Infinity Ward could offer was for us  to “only play with friends”.

“If you are concerned about playing with players who are hacking, I encourage you to play exclusively with friends by utilizing the party or private match options in Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty 4 to avoid such players as much as possible until this issue is resolved by Sony.”

“Let me assure you, while we are very reliant on Sony updating their firmware and security to address the core problem of this issue, we are looking at every option available to us to help any user affected.”

No word on a release date, but we will update you as soon as we hear one.
