New Assassin’s Creed title confirmed for 2012 release

Ubisoft’s confirmed that a new Assassin’s Creed title is in development, and will be releasing next year.

The announcement was made during a investors call today by Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot. He refused to disclose any further details involving the new project. It also won’t feature Ezio, whose last adventure can be seen in upcoming Assassin’s Creed title – Revelations.

Yves also shared some details regarding Revelations, revealing that the pre-orders for the game were “significantly higher” than figures for Brotherhood. However, he said that the company is expecting Revelations’ sales to see a “double digit decline” compared to Brotherhood.

“We want to be careful and prudent, but we have high expectations for the product,” Guillemot said,

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations releases next week for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. The franchise has sold over 31 million copies since its inception in November 2007.
