New James Bond title confirmed by Activision for 2011
During its Q1 2011 financial call, Activision confirmed that it would be releasing a new James Bond title in 2011.
The information came up during a discussion in which it referred to a number of licensed IPs it has in its release slate for 2011. Activision Publishing CEO, Eric Hirseberg disclosed that a new 007 game is in development but refused to go deeper.
“For the balance of the year, we plan to launch games based on the best-selling X-Men and Spider-Man franchises, James Bond and the toy phenomenon Bakugan as well as the latest release in the long-standing Cabela’s Hunting franchise, which we’re expanding this year to include new peripherals and an incredible Kinect experience,” he said.”
Activision had released two James Bond titles last year, Goldeneye 007 for the Wii and James Bond: Blood Stone developed by the now defunct Bizarre Creationsfor PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
The new unnamed Bond title is likely to be in development by Raven Software, who is also rumoured to be overlooking a part of the multiplayer component for the next Call of Duty title.
Expect more details regarding this new Bong game at E3 this year.
