New PS3 model CECH-3000 now confirmed

Sony has confirmed that the PS3 will be seeing a hardware revision once the current stock runs out.

The new model will be labelled as CECH-3xxx series and the CECH-3000B is going to be the 320GB model. This revision will bring out some minor changes in the PS3 architecture resulting in a lighter and greener console.

These new PS3s will be weighing less than the previous ones at 2.6kg instead of 3kg. Also, the power consumption will be reduced to just 200Watts. Though, there may still be some changes in the power/eject buttons or LEDs but these aren’t confirmed by Sony yet.

Going with the trend, Sony will be selling the new models at the current price of the PS3.
