PSN Hack Costs Sony £105million
The Playstation Network outage cost gamers a month of gaming time, but it looks to be costing Sony a lot more.
Sony has released a statement detailing its financial losses for the fiscal year ended March 31 2011, in which it says the Playstation Network hack may have cost the company 105 million pounds.
“Based on information currently available to Sony, our currently known costs associated with the unauthorized network access are estimated to be approximately 14 billion yen[approx 105 million pounds] in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2012,” Sony said.
A loss of 1.95 billion pounds is predicted for the entire financial year, as a result of a variety of factors including the devastating earthquake which hit Japan.
