Resident Evil 6 campaign to be around 30 hours long
According to game director Eiichiro Sasaki, Resident Evil 6 will include three different campaigns for each protagonist, which should last around 30 hours when stacked up.
“The three characters each have their own story and you can choose whichever one you want and play that story, experience that character’s story,” Sasaki said in a n interview with Now Gamer.
“In terms of length, each character’s story is a little bit less than RE5 but when you combine them together you’re getting something that is much longer.”
“While each character’s story stands alone, all of the characters wind up in the same area of the game, in China, so there is a certain level of overlap. They stand on their own but they do overlap in certain areas. You don’t have to play them all, of course.”
In a day and age where even a 8 hour single player component in a shooter is considered long, it’s great to see Capcom deviate from the path hoping to deliver a deeper and more compelling narrative . From what we’ve seen so far, Resident Evil 6 is shaping up to be everything that RE5 should have been when it released back in 2009. The game will be arriving on store shelves on October 2nd for the PS3 and Xbox 360, and sometime later for the PC.
