Rumor: Windows 8 to play 360 games

Yes, the title is correct and the grapevine has it that the next version of Windows might let you play Xbox 360 games on your PC.
If current specualtions are to be believed, it seems possible that you’ll be able to use your 360 discs on your PC and that too without needing the console. It is also expected that Windows 8 will allow you to log on to your Live account and use the services.
Well, “nothing come for free” and especially when Microsoft is involved. There will obviously be a fee to make your PC 360 games-capable and then subscription fee for Live services. And the amount would be in numbers equivalent to the cost of a 360 console.
Given the current scenario, even a budget gaming machine can produce the graphics which we see on 360 and PS3 barring few games. So, it’s just a matter of implementing the internal architecture of a console for the PC. This is a new marketing strategy but in line with the new trends we may see in the future related to ‘cloud-gaming’ but if the talked-about feature is implemented in Windows 8, 360 console sales will drown and PS3 owners will rejoice.
Though, it also hints at a new console from the Microsoft stable. Yes, we mean the next-gen console might be waiting with Windows 8.
Windows 8 releases next year.
