Rumour: Leaked Gamestop list outs release dates for several titles
An internal document, apparently from Gamespot, which contains the release dates of some currently undated games has been leaked.
Bear in mind that even if the document actually originates from an internal Gamestop source, it does not mean the dates are 100% genuine. Retailers often set dates simply so they can start getting pre-orders in; it may be a good indication of roughly when a game will release, but only the Publisher can say for certain.
We already know about a lot of the release dates on the list, but some interesting ones also cropped up:
- Dead Rising 2: Off The Record – October 31
- Tomb Raider – December 13
- Spider-Man: Edge of Time – December 31
Some of the dates are clearly not correct; Saints Row: The Third, Resident Evil: Racoon Operation, Sonic Generations, Battlefield 3, and Final Fantasy XIII-2, are down for a 1st January 2012 list. According to my calendar that day is a Sunday, so it is clearly just a 2012 placeholder date. There are also other dates which are either Sunday’s or Mondays, so this list definitely needs to be taken with a pinch of salt.
