Rumour: Nintendo DS 2 dev kits already being circulated

What appears to be a pretty valid rumour, coming from the notable French site-Gamekult, it seems Nintendo has already begun circulating ‘Development Kits’ of their yet to be announced portable console, the Nintendo DS 2!

From what we could make out of the french post they made, it seems Nintendo is gearing up for announcing the new console at E3 and has already forwarded the development kits to several renowned studios. There were talks of a new Nintendo console being worked upon for a while now and Shigeru Miyamoto also hinted at the possibilities of such new hardware from Nintendo is in the cards, last week, which leads us to believe that a big announcement is heading our way soon. It might happen at the upcoming GDC or most prolly at E3, but if it indeed proves out to be the DS 2, then Gamekult’s sources will prove to be right.

They also suggested that a new console might be available in the market by the year end. We sure hope, this is the case!
