Sony at E3 2010: Aces High?
Aiman: I think covered most of the games that Sony will flaunt this E3…Oh wait…Resistance 3.
Debabrata: Ah yeah. That has slowly become a big franchise for Sony.
Aiman: I have nothing against Insomniac…I think they make great games…I love Ratchet and Clank. But I don’t think they are cut out to make First Person Shooters. I mean the best Resistance game, according to me is the PSP one…Resistance Retribution by Sony Bend which I think was amazing.
Kartik: The first one was a good game; suited to the hardcore FPS fanatic. Then they went ahead and muddled the plot with Resistance 2 which itself caused lot of fans to leave the franchise.
Aiman: I always thought Resistance 1 on the PS3 was over hyped just because it was a launch title. The whole game was not great visually…and not exactly a great, genre defining FPS. Nathan Hale was boring and Resistance for me now is synonymous with brown. Resistance 2 made things worse…60 player multiplayer. I thought this could be cool. But it ended up being easy pickings…I remember once scoping in with a sniper to find 8-9 guys all crouched in the same freaking place. On the bright side you don’t get 8-9 kills all at once, every day.
Kartik: I feel sad for Insomniac. They worked for 14 years for Sony and hardly made any money from game sales.
Debabrata: Well, then I guess it’s a good thing they are going multiplatform. I hear they are releasing a new game on both X360 and PS3 in partnership with EA.
Aiman: I think Resistance should be given a break, just like they are giving Ratchet a well deserved break- they need to reinvent the series somehow…or it will fade away. Hope Insomniac do well with their multiplatform titles…wonderful studio.
Kartik: They lost a lot of fans because of Resistance 2. Rubbish game in my opinion. I doubt anyone liked it.
Aiman: Don’t worry dude…there will be loads of people with pitchforks on N4G when they read this. Resistance does have its horde of followers.
Kartik: Now that that’s settled, does anyone know what Sony London are working on?
Aiman: Sony London… they were working on Eight Days which looked awesome, but they were pulled off, to work on that retarded game-Eye Pet.
Kartik: Oooo yeah.
Aiman: Who the fuck cares about Eye Pet?
Debabrata: Wait, Eight Days is still under development.
Aiman: Drown the critter and make real games.
Kartik: Eight Days and The Getaway were in development but are presently on a hiatus because Sony foolishly diverted the resources to PSN and Home – Stupid, stupid decision.
Aiman: Home is still tolerable…but seriously Eye Pet? I’d shoot that abomination to bits…or feed it to a paper shredder.
Kartik: Home should be out of beta this E3, Â so probably Eight Days will be announced
Aiman: Have you seen the ads? The kids bathing the bastard critter and the parents looking on happily like their son just won the Nobel prize?
Kartik: Lol yeah. Anyways, are we forgetting something?
