Source: PSN not hacked again, outage due to technical issues

A source who’s  in close contact with Sony has confirmed to Gamersmint that PSN downtime isn’t the result of another hack into the network.

Requesting anonymity, the person said that the downtime is due to some technical issues  and isn’t because there was an intrusion into Sony’s network. He has also assured that it should be back up within a few hours time from now

“The recent PSN outage isn’t because of an external intrusion but a technical issue within the network. Should be fixed in the next few hours and is nothing to get worried about. ”

When PSN went down earlier today, there were concerns worldwide whether someone had managed to hack into it again, however this comes as a relief as people wouldn’t have been able to bear another intrusion, especially after the aftermath of the first one – which left PSN users stranded and without access for more than a month.
