Since Spec Ops: The Line’s announcement by 2K Games during the VGAs, the shooter has been kept out of the spotlight by the publisher but now the company’s released a new trailer, as well as confirming a launch window.

The game will release sometime during Spring, 2012. Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K said:

With all of its grandeur and opulence, Dubai provides the perfect backdrop to play out SpecOps: The Line’s deep and complex narrative. This bold endeavor harnesses 2K’s pedigreeof creating fascinating stories, settings and worlds to create an aggressive narrative andenvironment that you won’t find in other games on the market. Wartime narratives evoke emotion like few things else in our culture. Players willfight through this hostile environment in Spec Ops: The Line, creating a raw and unique videogame experience.

2K also provided a summary of what the game is about:

In Spec Ops: The Line players will assume the role of Captain Walker, a U.S. Delta Forcesoldier on a harrowing rescue mission to save the damned 33rd squad of the U.S. Infantry. Setagainst the backdrop of a sandstorm-ravaged Dubai, Spec Ops: The Line is 2K’s first foray intothe modern military genre, combining its trademark narrative depth with compelling action tomove players beyond the simple conflicts of good-versus-bad.

The game’s out next year for PS3, PC, and Xbox 360.
