Splinter Cell HD Trilogy confirmed for the PS3

It’s raining remastered classics. Ubisoft has confirmed that the rumored Splinter Cell Trilogy is in the works.

The trilogy will include Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory. Sorry, no Double Agent.  No official details yet, but you can accept remastered textures, 720p resolution support, achievements and to a smaller extent, 3D support.

No word on a Xbox 360 release despite the series origins. The trilogy pack is already available for the PC and as with all PC games, it supports HD resolutions from the get go, going all the way to 1920 X 1200. This would be a much cheaper alternative and won’t come at the cost of quality. If you reside in India then you can pick up the pack for a price of Rs 699 from your closest retailer. What a steal! Meanwhile, Crystal Dynamics has also announced a Tomb Raider Trilogy which will be heading to the PS3 early next year.
