Square confirms Final Fantasy X will be a HD port for Vita and PS3, not a full Remake

When Square Enix announced at Tokyo Game Show that there’s going to be a Final Fantasy X HD remake for PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3, there was one big question hanging over everyone’s head – whether it is going to be a complete remake or just a HD remastered version for the console and handheld?

However, Square Enix has finally confirmed that it’s going to be a HD port and not a remake in a blog post they recently made. Here’s what they said:

The game is being remastered in HD for both the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Vita.

Although, this might be disappointing news for fans who were expecting a full remake, but considering it’s being made for both the Vita and PS3, it wouldn’t have been possible for Square to do so, and a HD port sounds exciting enough and might do just enough to revive people’s interest in the franchise.

Square’s thrown practically no details yet about when the port is going to release. We’ll keep you updated as more on this emerges.
