Square Enix announces E3 line-up

Square Enix announced its line-up today for the upcoming E3 convention in Los Angeles, CA from June 7 to June 9. Players can expect to see some of the publisher’s biggest names coming back for another round this year, as well as some newcomers that are sure to rouse things up.

  • Tomb Raider – A veritable reboot of the classic series, players must help Lara Croft to survive the unforgiving wilderness as they earn skill-ups, forage for food, craft equipment, and solve dangerous puzzles.
  • Final Fantasy XIII-2 – Continuing the XIII storyline, with improved Command Synergy Battle (CBS) and Paradigm Shift systems, Final Fantasy XIII-2 will feature an all new cast of characters and will be playable for the first time this June at E3.
  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Marking the return of the series, the prequel tracks the progression of human evolution as it first began using mechanical augmentation.
  • Hitman: Absolution – Delve deeper into the life of the mysterious Agent 47 as he takes on his toughest contract yet. This game marks the first of the series to be published by Square Enix and marks the series’ debut on the PlayStation 3.
  • Dead Island – The island of Banoi, once a paradise, now a nightmarish fight for survival as the island has been overrun by ravaging zombies.
  • Dungeon Siege III – From the developers that brought you Knights of the Old Republic, Neverwinter Nights 2, and Fallout: New Vegas comes an epic new chapter in the Dungeon Siege series. Players return to the kingdom of Ehb to rebuild the 10th Legion and fight to reclaim their honor from the murderous Jeyne Kassynder.
  • Wakfu – Upcoming new anime-inspired fantasy world that utilizes tactical combat elements in a turn-based MMORPG.
  • Heroes of Ruin – Four mercenaries set out on an adventurous quest to uncover a mysterious cure to a curse that plagues the ruler of the city of Nexus. This real-time role-playing game, coming to the Nintendo 3DS, will allow players to trade items and complete daily challenges by utilizing the console’s StreetPass and SpotPass technology.

For those attending E3, Square Enix will be at booth 1647 in the South Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center. Those that can’t make it to the convention can follow them on their events website, which will be hosting daily updates and coverage from the booth.
