SR franchise continuation dependent on Saints Row: The Third success

Saints Row: The Third developer Volition has said that game’s success will determine the series’ continuation.

THQ’s Danny Bilson has already stated that Saints Row 4 is a thing, but for it to come into proper fruition commercial success for the soon-to-be released Saints Row: The Third has to perform well. Volition lead designer Scott Phillips explained to VG247:

The only announced project we have right now is inSane. I think, depending on, of course, review scores and on sales of Saints Row: The Third, you can logically assume there might be future projects in that franchise. We’ll see. There’s nothing I can say, but I think everyone can assume what will happen based on the success of Saints Row: The Third.

We have two floors in the building, and they’re on the other floor, so I don’t get to see what they’re doing too often. I get to see concept art (for inSANE), that’s for sure, and I think the concept’s art looking fantastic.

Saints Row: The Third is currently scheduled for a release on Friday for Europe with the title releasing today in North America.
