Suda51 Announces Lollipop Chainsaw

“My girl lollipop, she is sweet as candy, and she has a zombie shredding chainsaw”.

Suda51 isn’t a songwriter, but if he was then the above lyrics would probably seem perfectly reasonable to him. Why am I referencing an iconic ska tune on a gaming website? Because Grasshopper Manufacture’s latest game is called Lollipop Chainsaw.

Suda51 is known for his wacky and unique style, and this game promises to be no different. You play as a teenager on her eighteen birthday, who goes into school and finds the whole place overrun with zombies. Fear not though, for she has a chainsaw at hand and hacks through the zombies.

Why does a game that’s so full of violence and zombies have “Lollipop” in the title? I’ll let Suda51 himself explain that one.

“Instead of sprays of blood, we have the zombies emitting bursts of pink light,” Suda said. “When it comes to gore, we can certainly go that way if we want, but we wanted to give the game more of a ‘pop’ feel.”

Don’t feel afraid to but this, even if people give you those “dead” stares. The game’s coming for PS3 and Xbox 360.
