The long awaited FPS survival titles will now only ship sometime during Autumn. According to a statement issued by Sega, Gearbox Software will require some addition time to polish some edges.

“Aliens: Colonial Marines is a process of creativity and invention and those don’t necessarily follow the structure of an assembly line. While setting clear goals, deadlines and predictions is helpful, they are often subjective.”

“We don’t want to sacrifice the creative process just for the sake of following a blue print. We prefer to have the creative discovery shape that blue print because our goal is to make a great game, and we are prioritising this goal over the previously targeted date.”

The game was originally announced in 2008, with development tracing back to 2006 itself. After a long period of lurking in the shadows, many presumed that the game will never see the light of day. Then all our fears were put to rest when the game was demoed for the first time in front of a public audience at E3 2011. After the extremely long and agonizing period of waiting patiently, it would be heartbreaking to be served an unfinished mess. We would rather have the game delayed a couple months than to see it go the way of Duke Nukem.

Heroes of Might and Magic VI slips to October

News

delay

delayed

Heroes of Might & Magic Vi

Release Date
<guid

It’s disappointing and frustrating and it really takes the wind out of your sails if you’re a fan that has been looking forward to playing a title for a long time. Thing is, you gotta trust me when I tell you that – with this extra time for tuning and polish – the game is going to be so much better than it already is. And if you played Twisted Metal and liked it at E3 or Comic-Con, or if you get to play it (and you enjoy it) at one of the August shows, just imagine how much more fun the final game will be with some extra time, polish, and love.

“With Twisted Metal we plan to ship a multiplayer classic. We plan to ship the best Twisted Metal ever made. We plan to convert a lot of folks who think vehicle combat is a relic best left to 90′s nostalgia. And we plan to explode the belief that the only relevant kind of shooter is a first person one. Most importantly, we plan on treating you – the kind folks who play our game (and pay our bills) – like the VIPs that you are. You only deserve our best and we appreciate your understanding as we take a little more time to guarantee that our best is what we deliver.”

Jaffe also mentioned that they development team is trying their best to get a playable build ready for PAX Prime and this months GamesCom. From what we’ve seen, the game definitely captures the over the top vehicular destruction and absurdity which made the original so great. And why should we object when the extra time will only yield in a better game.

The Witcher 2 360 delayed to Q1 2012

News

delayed

pushed back

The Witcher 2

The Witcher 2 360

The Witcher 2 360 delayed
<guid

Originally slated for a fall release, The Witcher 2 will now ship sometime during Q1 2012.

“The extra time will allow us to polish the title to perfection, so that the game offers an ideally balanced, fantastic experience to gamers. As the launch of the game approaches, we will be sharing more details how it will be released on Xbox 360. I trust that despite the release date shift, players will be satisfied with what we are planning for them,” said Adam Kicinski, lead of the team.

However, it’s highly likely that CD Projekt’s recent legal clash with the PC version’s publisher, Namco Bandai could be the real reason behind the delay. Namco Bandai had claimed that developer broke their agreement twice, first by removing the retail version’s DRM in a post-release patch, and then by granting publishing rights to the Xbox 360 version to THQ in Europe.

Regardless of the reasons behind it, the move is sure to disappoint 360 owners. But not to worry, we’re sure Skyrim will keep you occupied till then.

Thanks <a
