Unreal Engine 4 to be Unveiled Later This Year

During DICE 2012, Mark Rein, VP of Epic Games revealed that the developer intends to show off their next iteration  of one of the most popular game engines in the industry.

The demo of Samaritan which was showcased at GDC last year blew minds away, as even though it was all rendered in real time, it remained indistinguishable from CG trailers of today. And that just utilized a modified version of Unreal Engine 3. It’s clear that Unreal Engine 4 is targeted at the next generation of home consoles and the current PC hardware. The leap in graphical quality can be expected to be monumental.

“People are going to be shocked later this year when they see Unreal Engine 4 and how much more profound an effect it will have.” said Mark.
