VGA reveal to be a New Franchise from Epic Games

Epic Games lead designer Cliffy B has confirmed that the new game announcement from Epic Games at VGAs this year will be an entirely new franchise, putting rest to speculation that it might be a sequel, or spin-off based on their existing titles.

The news was confirmed via a tweet by the developer.

“@geoffkeighley: At VGAs this Saturday on Spike, @therealcliffyb will unveil a surprise new franchise from Epic! http://www.spike.com/events/video-game-awards-2011/world-premiere-trailers/ly15dj”

Cliff also said that the announcement might not be what people are expecting it to be:

It’s interesting to note that Epic will be developing this game in-house as the studio mentioned is their North Carolina HQ. This means they won’t be outsourcing the work to one of their other studios.

The VGAs take place on December 10. We’ll have to wait to find out what it might be.
