WCG 2010 : Indian Leg results are out, A+e does it “again”

After making gamers lock horns in six different cities in India, the finals of the Indian leg of World Cyber Games 2010 were held at Essel World in Mumbai on August 29. The major attraction as ever was Counter Strike 1.6. Six teams who qualified from all over India, besting the competition at their respective cities finally came face to face in the finals. They were divided into two groups and finally only two remained, who would go on to play the finale of the event. The skilled teams were A+e ( the reigning champions of the last 4 WCG Indian legs) and iNvictus ( another veteran clan having seen many a tourney before) .

A+e emerged out as the winners beating iNvictus 16-4 & 16-4 on de_dust2 & de_train respectively; proving once again that they are India’s no 1 Counter Strike clan. They will now go on to represent India at Los Angeles in the World Cyber Games finals to be held there from September 30, 2010 onwards. Although, A+e has failed to impress at the grand stage so far, we hope this time they come out on top, however with the little support that they get, it’s not going to be easy.

“The response from all six cities has been tremendous and our heartiest congratulations to all the winners. We hope they make India proud at the Grand Finale,” said Vishal Gondal, founder and CEO UTV Indiagames.

Other games were also featured in the Indian Leg of WCG like Fifa and Asphalt 5. The full list of winners is provided below

  • Team ATE ( Counter Strike 1.6 )
  • Rahul Kumar ( FIFA )
  • Naveen Uraon ( Asphalt 5 )
  • Gana Sekhar ( T20 Fever )

We wish all the winners the very best and hope they put up a good show in LA and make all of us proud.
